This is a sample of an elastomer mill that I designed for the ECCI university in Bogotá in 2020.

This is the design of an elastomer mill that we made together with two mechanical engineers. Compared to the competition, this is a mill that has cooling, by means of a rotary joint, the resistance of all the components is calculated and it complies with the technical standard D3182-15a.21178. The main advantage is the low cost compared to the other roller mills, additionally it has electrical protection and material blocking. Finally the mill was made so that its assembly was modular and with some adjustments the temperature can be regulated to laminate thermoplastics.

The design was made for the ECCI University of Colombia, in order to build the machine and place it in their laboratories. The idea is to reuse the rubber of the dielectric mats of the industry that by standard and certification go out of use.

I am proud of this work because the accuracy required to meet the standard with adjustable 0.2mm GAP is very difficult to achieve. I am pleased with the results since everything has been meticulously calculated.
